reflections are still valid, although the conclusion about what an ODBMS is
has not yet been drawn.

may have been more important from the pragmatic point of view of the
application of the technology, than from this of the progress of our
knowledge...

The most valuable contribution of this book may paradoxically be to have
openly displayed contradictions, freeing the way for the unexpected.

- Direct support for distribution and concurrency, preserving the
  separation of concerns, i.e. configuration transparency
