3 A toolset

The O2 system attempts to offer a complete development environment, including
user interface design tools, a programming environment with an incremental
compiler [Note:
 compiler.], and a debugger [Note:
 debugger.].

Such an integration of syntax aware tools, allied with the use of a database
could permit to maintain and update automatic analyses of the database system,
allowing for ad hoc support.

Efficient support (incremental loading, late incremental optimization) is
needed to allow for yet higher-level languages, combining more dynamism
(openness to changes), and offering real shifts of responsibility from the
programmer to the system.
