strategy in place, which aims for a near paperless working environment
by the end of the decade.

The Initial Graphics Exchange Specification (IGES) is an ANSI standard
cited for the exchange of product model data in MIL-D-28000.

In time, IGES will be superseded by the Standard for the Exchange of
Product model data (STEP).

MIL-M-28001 is an application of the ISO Standard Generalized Markup
Language (SGML). [The work is] planned to take into account the needs
of Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs).

MIL-R-28002: raster graphics or scanned images (CCITT T.6 Rec for
group 4 facsimile).

MIL-D-28003: vector graphics (ISO standard Computer Graphics Metafile:
CGM).

IETMs are an application of the ISO HyTime standard, that are for the
Hypermedia/Time-Based Structuring Language.
