Managing ignorance

• We have no choice but ignore most things
• This blindness may be individual or contractual
• It may be passive or active
• The metaphor of the black hole on the map is dangerous because it assumes an external point of view -- one is captive of one's model!
• What you ignore is a boundary (interface). What is behind, and how it can affect you, you don't know (safely, statically)
• Active management is required
